Who the hell am I?

Lets start with my name, I’m Emma Buck

A question I ask myself at least once a week. Growing up as a weird art kid in school I found my place in the alternative music scene. Being driven to school listening to Joan Jett in my mom’s car and Linkin Park in my dad’s car, I was bound to end up this way.
Growing up in the late 2000s and early 2010s as a preteen girl I was always bound to become a fangirl. My band of choice becoming 5 Seconds of Summer, which led me down the path of loving Pop Punk and Midwest Emo.

Picking up my family’s old DSLR in high school helped push me into trying out new ways of photography. Doing journalism led me to find skills in InDesign and Photoshop while high school photography class taught me the basics of working a camera and using Lightroom. After covid hit I found community in my local skatepark scene which taught me so much about friendship, documentation, and catching the moment as it happens.

Eventually I found my place in the local Detroit DIY music scene and now love going to shows and documenting the community that makes music what it is.

Thank you for reading, okay bye.
